Bout of Books Read-a-Thon

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 7th and runs through Sunday, January 13th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 6.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. -From the Bout of Books 6.0 team

Time Devoted to Reading

I will be reading all week, however I have a big important grad school interview the 11th-12th, so I will try to get most of my reading done during the week.

Oooo, I’m so happy I saw this. I’m gonna have to go sign up now too :)

Good luck on your grad school interview!!!

  2. Oh, what fun! I may pop over and see if I can join in the fun too. Good luck at your grad school interview! Where are you interviewing at?

    • Anne says:

You should! This was my first read-a-thon back on version 4.0 and I’ve loved it ever since!

Thanks! I’m interviewing at IU Bloomington, which is my top school right now. Fingers crossed! 😀

  3. Good luck on all your reading goals- I love the list of books to read there!

Oh boy, tiny advice: in my experience, Fire Study is not a fast read—I LOVE Snyder (and the series) but Fire is somewhat of a fail. :s

Anyway, good luck, have fun, and I’ll see you around the read-a-thon. 😉

    • Anne says:

I’ve heard that! :( But having read the rest of the series, I kind of feel like I have to finish it. Maybe I’ll put it off till after the read-a-thon though.

Good luck to you too! 😀

I like that your goals are so well-rounded, lol! I set mine as just reading goals, but I don’t know how well I’ll do as this is my first time – and I didn’t realize how much social stuff there was going on during BoB. So…I may see how this one goes and change my goals for next time, lol!

Anyway, you’ve made a new friend (I hope, lol)…I’m following you and look forward to “reading” with you next week!

    • Anne says:

Thanks! I think my first time I mostly just set reading goals – it takes going through it once to really know what Bout of Books is about. Happy reading next week! 😀

  6. Woo! 7 books! Go you! :) I aimed totally low since I don’t know when I’ll be reading, but I did warn hubs that I’m participating! I hope that most of mine can help me with Book Bingo. :)

    • Anne says:

Yeah, I figured out my goals before figuring out I’d be gone for some of it. But 7 is totally do-able and normal for me, if I go about it the right way.

I don’t think I’ll be reading anything all year that I won’t figure out how to count for Book Bingo somehow lol. It takes LOTS of books to get a blackout after all.

Good luck to you too! :)

  7. Pragya says:

Love your list, have to read all of them.

  8. Lauren says:

AWESOME goals! I lovedddd the Discovery of Witches – I really hope you enjoy it! And yayyy… Harry Potter re-read :) I hope you accomplish all of your goals!

    • Anne says:

Thanks! :) I’m really looking forward to Discovery of Witches, I’ve had it on my shelf for a while and just never got around to reading it lol. Good luck next week!

  9. Allison L says:

Good luck with all your goals! It looks like you have plenty of good books to keep you occupied! :)

You have tons of good books up there. I love Estep’s books and thought Discovery of Witches was pretty good too :) Good luck this week!

    • Anne says:

I just started Discovery of Witches and it’s pretty good so far! It’s effing BIG though! Gonna take me a while :)

Thanks and good luck to you too!

  11. Angelya says:

Wow, that’s quite a book list – a few of them are pretty big! Best of luck with all your goals and have a lovely week :)

    • Anne says:

*raps* I like big BOOKS and I cannot lie. You other brothers can’t de-NY. *stops* *looks around and hopes nobody heard that* *blushes furiously*

      Thanks Angelya! 😀

  12. Alexia561 says:

    Good luck with the read-a-thon!

  13. Woo! Awesome progress, Anne! KEEP GOING! :)
