Clock Rewinders on a Book Binge is where Tara @ 25 Hour Books and Amanda @ On a Book Bender shamelessly plug each other, share the fantastic posts, giveaways, or whatever else we’ve found and loved by other awesome bloggers (or authors!) during the week, and talk about the books we plan on reading in the coming week. The Corner Newsstand
(This week on Creativity’s Corner)
- Monday I reviewed Men in Black 3. It wasn’t nearly so bad as the reviewers rated it, but then again, I love time travel.
- Tuesday I reviewed the first three books in the Iron Druid Chronicles: Hounded, Hexed, and Hammered. I am sorely wishing that I hadn’t read someone else’s review halfway through the third, or I might still be enjoying them now.
- On Wednesday, I introduced a new semi-regular feature: Bookish Bucket List! (For more information, please see the “Schedule” tab under the “About” menu.) This week I featured The Hunger Games.
- Thursday I reviewed The False Prince by Jennifer A. Nielsen.
- Saturday I signed up for the Seriously Series challenge, hosted by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal.
Behind the Desk
(My life behind the scenes)
It was a good week! (Well, except for that day when my servers went down and I lost everything since JUNE. But let’s not dwell on that.) I spent a lot of time catching up on things I couldn’t do while I was busy making sure all my apps got in on time. I got to see my best friend from college and we got to watch The Hobbit together. (I need the soundtrack. Like now. KTHXBAI!) AND I am 100% ready for Christmas, shopping and wrapping-wise. Now it’s just bake cookies this weekend and then BRING IT ON! 😀
Around the Corner
(Blog posts I found awesome since the last post)
There’s lots this week, just like I promised. You guys did lots of awesome stuff while I was busy!
- Amanda (On a Book Bender) shared her secrets for building community, and hosted a discussion on plagiarism.
- Kristilyn (Reading in Winter) wondered if we could avoid reading slumps. I know I personally don’t, no matter how I try.
- Stephanie (Once Upon a Chapter) confessed that she doesn’t read reviews. I feel like I’ve said this in response to a lot of posts recently, but I don’t either.
- Jess (Gone with the Words) introduced a feature where she reads YOUR favorite books. Sounds like lots of fun to me!
- Ruby (Ruby’s Reads) asked for recommendations of holiday books. I’m following this one closely because I never seem to be able to find any good ones!
- Enna Isilee (Squeaky Books) discussed Fan-fiction. I couldn’t make a comment box show up for some reason, so I didn’t get to join in, but it was a great discussion!
- 1st Daughter (There’s a Book) talked about her ALL THE FEELS books.
- Kelly (Reading the Paranormal) asked if we wanted help reminding us to keep up on the housekeeping around our blogs.

Yay! The Hobbit! I got to see it yesterday. It was a lot of fun and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.
I’m glad you liked it!
Ooh! I have Valkyrie Rising. I think I’m going to save it for Seriously Series but I’m looking forward to it like whoa!
It’s part of a series? I didn’t know that! I shall have to look into the rest of the books
I plan to read The Hobbit before I see it, but who knows … hubs may want to see it Christmas week, so I guess I should get on it!
I read some reviews, but usually only of books that I’ve read … I hate ruining a book for myself!
You must read The Hobbit! I will keep hounding you until you do!
Speaking of, I think I’m due for a re-read soon…
