Clock Rewinders on a Book Binge is where Tara @ 25 Hour Books and Amanda @ On a Book Bender shamelessly plug each other, share the fantastic posts, giveaways, or whatever else we’ve found and loved by other awesome bloggers (or authors!) during the week, and talk about the books we plan on reading in the coming week. The Corner Newsstand
(This week on Creativity’s Corner)
- Monday I reviewed the audiobook version of Starclimber by Kenneth Oppel.
- Tuesday I wondered why time travel was necessary in Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly.
- Wednesday I wished for a chance to participate in an Austen-ian re-enactment week.
- Thursday I reviewed a new book from one of childhood favorite authors – The Secret Prophecy by Herbie Brennan.
- Friday I confessed that I mostly only like happy books (and then hid in fear of you all shooting me for not really enjoying some of your favorites).
- Also, Bloggiesta is happening this weekend. Follow along as I try to do ALL THE THINGS.
Behind the Desk
(My life behind the scenes)
Bloggiesta is this weekend! Also, I went to a Ceili this weekend. Otherwise? I got nothin’. Until/if I get further information from schools, OR April 1st (if that information isn’t coming) I’m stuck in a pattern of waiting. It kinda sucks, but at the same time, it’s nice to have all this time to do stuff I normally wouldn’t let myself. I’m getting lots of TV watched, have several crafting projects started, and I’m getting lots of reading/blogging done. PLUS, I have plenty of time to study for placement exams for the fall (current subjects: Music History, Music Theory and German). Wish me luck!
Around the Corner
(Blog posts I found awesome since the last post)
- Hannah (Once Upon a Time) wrote an interesting post on blog tours – I don’t do them anymore, but I think it’s a great post for those who do.
- Lots of people talking about the “How you SHOULD blog” issue this week – Jamie (Perpetual Page-Turner) and Gaby (Queen Ella Bee Reads) wrote my favorites (both basically saying, do it your way!)
- Lisa (Read. Breathe. Relax) shared some thoughts on reading the last book in a series. I tried to think about it… and I haven’t done this in so long that I can’t really remember my thoughts. Um. *is embarrassed* *orders ALL the series from the library*
- Danni (Bewitched Bookworms) discussed the novella trend. I usually miss out on these…
- Kelly (Reading the Paranormal) shared her unfortunate experiences trying to get a plagiarized review taken down from B&N’s website.
GoodReaders’ Digest
(Books I’ve read in the past week and books I plan to read next. Also includes stats for the current challenges)
Read:
- The Truth by Terry Pratchett (re-read)
- For Darkness Shows the Stars by Diana Peterfreund – Review: 4/11
- Ten Ways to be Adored When Landing a Lord by Sarah MacLean – a decent second book, but it did seem a little like it was just re-stating the first. Maybe I read them too close together?
- Bewitching by Alex Flinn – Review: 4/16
- Sir Apropos of Nothing by Peter David (Temporary DNF: maybe later when I’m more in the mood)
Currently Reading:
- Jenny Pox by J.L. Brian
- Incarnate by Jodi Meadows
- Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery (re-read)
- Ready Player One by Ernest Cline (re-read, audiobook)
Challenge Updates:
Bingo Squares crossed off this week:
None – it’s harder to cross them off when you have to read 4 or 5 books for each square!
Seriously Series books read:
- Ten Ways to be Adored When Landing a Lord by Sarah MacLean
- Bewitching by Alex Flinn – Review: 4/16
