Clock Rewinders on a Book Binge is where Tara @ 25 Hour Books and Amanda @ On a Book Bender shamelessly plug each other, share the fantastic posts, giveaways, or whatever else we’ve found and loved by other awesome bloggers (or authors!) during the week, and talk about the books we plan on reading in the coming week. Behind the Desk
(My life behind the scenes)
OH MY GOODNESS! I have been gone too long! *wraps arms around all of you and huggles you tight*
So much has happened since my last Clock Rewinders. For those of you who haven’t seen via Twitter or my other blog, I’ve been offered the chance to skip the MA in Musicology and go straight into the direct PhD program. AAAAAAHHHHH!!! At first they were asking me to make the decision in 3 days (major decision involving up to 4 more years of my life in three days? I THINK NOT!) I got them to agree to let me think about it for a little while, and after much research and lots of emails back and forth, it looks like I’m going to do it (barring any major surprises that is). SO, instead of earning a dual masters (MLS/MA) I’ll be earning a MLS with a doctorate in Musicology. I may, in fact, be insane. If I’m not already, I will be in a few years! lol
I also spent last weekend looking at places to live in the fall! I signed a lease on an apartment that I think I will be very happy in, and I’ve spent all week daydreaming about how I’m going to decorate it. I’ve also spent the week noticing how incredibly unorganized my stuff is right now and cleaning anything I can manage.
Around the Corner
(Blog posts I found awesome since the last post)
- Felicia (Geeky Blogger’s Book Blog) confessed to being mostly a series reader.
- Sarah J. Maas (Author of Throne of Glass) released the cover of Crown of Midnight and it looks WAY epic! *grabby hands*
- Meg (Ink Skies) shared her “must-haves” for the blogs she follows. She also wondered how many of us have reading schedules.
- Jamie (The Perpetual Page-Turner) discusses how her recommendations have changed (pre- vs. post- blogging if you will).
- Kristilyn (Reading in Winter) talked about what makes people want to quit blogging, and then followed up with a discussion on why blogging isn’t as easy as it might seem to outsiders.
- Gaby (Queen Ella Bee Reads) commanded us to comment on others’ blogs (a thing I am sometimes TERRIBLE about… SORRY!) She was also interviewed over at On a Book Bender.
- Elena (Novel Sounds) gave us some tips on how to deal with that really annoying person on Twitter.
- Amanda (On a Book Bender) talks marketing your blog. I… um… don’t do this. Maybe I should, but I feel like I would be very bad at it.
- Danny (Bewitched Bookworms) discussed why we want ARCs. I do my very best to stay away from the whole ARC scene but this is a great post for those who do get them.
- Chri (Ink Skies) wanted to know how we read our books.
- Relatedly Chrystal (Snowdrop Dreams of Books) wants to know how we organize our books.
- Kim (YA Asylum) compared horror movies and horror books.
- Jana (That Artsy Reader Girl) shared a fun little video on “Amazon Yesterday Shipping” (man, wouldn’t that be nice!)
- Kelly (Reading the Paranormal) asked us how we follow our favorite blogs. I personally use an RSS software on my computer – easier to get through that pile of posts without getting distracted!
- Ink Skies hosted their first blogger panel on what makes a good character.
- Gaby (Queen Ella Bee Reads) and Amanda (On a Book Bender) are starting a new discussion series called (re)Discovering the Basics – this week’s topic: Why blog?

Do you want people to visit your blog? Then you should market. That was the whole point of my marketing post.
Marketing is not a dirty word. Sometimes it’s just being involved in the community so that the community becomes involved in you.
AH, thanks so much for including our posts in this! I feel really honored – so glad you enjoyed them.
I’m going to have to check out the rest. They sound interesting! Also, hope you’re enjoying your current reads. I’m not sure if I’ll be getting Incarnate, since I’ve been hearing lots of mixed reviews for it, but I’m looking forward to your thoughts on it!
I feel exhausted just thinking about how busy you’re going to get … but that’s amazing that you’re getting your PhD! GO YOU!
