Hello friends! It has been far, far too long and I apologize. Apparently doctoral work is about ten times harder than I imagined, and I imagined it would be pretty hard!
The good news is I have finished my first semester, and next semester looks much easier! I will be taking three masters’ level courses, mainly to fill in gaps that I missed by skipping a masters’ altogether. That means I will be able to return to blogging (I hope). My schedule will be fairly sporadic: I’m only planning one post per week until I see what this next set of classes turn out to be like. I hope I can get myself back into good habits and continue the blog – I really really missed it this past semester!
In the meantime, look for a few extra posts this week and next as I catch up, including next year’s book bingo challenge (which is already up over on Kristilyn’s blog – I’ll admit, I was feverishly writing a 20 page paper when that went up, so I’m totally behind!) and a few short reviews of the few books I managed to read over the semester. I have a lot of catching up to do!
Happy Holidays everyone!
Oh I remember that feeling! I had semesters (just during my Master’s) that would shock me with how much time it consumed, especially paired with being a mother too. Work has been kicking my butt lately which is why I have been blogging so sporadically but with working two positions most of this year, it was bound to happen.
Good luck next semester and I do hope it gives you the reprieve you are looking forward to.
Wow I can’t imagine going to school, being a mother, AND trying to blog as well! I would go crazy! One of the things I love about this community, though, is that when life goes absolutely crazy and you have to leave for a while, everyone is always very understanding. We’re all human, and we all know it happens.
Thanks! I have my fingers crossed too
I too understand that college can be quite a struggle to keep up with blogging although I can’t imagine getting a doctorate when I can’t even managing blogging with my bachelor’s degree.
Haha, well I can’t imagine it either! I haven’t figured out how to do it yet. Frankly, I should have known – I started the blog summer after my Junior year, and that first year, while I was still in school, was really rough! I’m hoping with a few more years’ experience in how I want to do things I’ll have a better time of it. Fingers crossed!
Glad that you’re going to try and find the time to get back into blogging! School is intense … I remember those days! Though I never did go for a doctorate, so I can’t even imagine how much work that would be …
Yay for having Anne back!
